Ability Matters Blog
Ability Matters’ blog is written by Amy Price. Amy is the parent of an adult with autism and has made her career serving individuals with autism for the last twenty years. While pursuing her Master’s in Library and Information Sciences from Kent State University, she was able to obtain federal funding to explore the use of ebooks on iPads with students with autism and publish her findings. Through her publications, presentations, and tutorials; she hopes to motivate others to see the possibilities that innovative programming can bring to the quality of life for those with autism. This blog hopes to impart a road map that will inspire others to develop outstanding programming for this underserved population. Going beyond personal experience and exploring the details of what makes this programming successful across the spectrum, we hope to pave the way for others to understand how and why individuals with neurodevelopmental disabilities have the Ability to Matter in our world.
